The Finnish Commerce Federation and Internet Industry Finland have made a co-operation agreement, making Internet Industry Finland a member of the Finnish Commerce Federation. The co-operation strengthens the lobbying for Finnish multi-channel commerce. Other aims include building expertise in the field together and improving competitiveness in the international market.

Internet Industry Finland continues to operate as an independent member association of the Finnish Commerce Federation. The two associations have previous experience of co-operation. For example, they have organised e-commerce training for commerce sector representatives and entrepreneurs.

“The Finnish Commerce Federation and Internet Industry Finland have similar lobbying interests. The agreement we have recently made strengthens the lobbying activities of both associations. Internet Industry Finland is a good match for the Finnish Commerce Federation that has an important role in promoting multi-channel commerce,” Juhani Pekkala, Managing Director of the Finnish Commerce Federation says.

“For Internet Industry Finland, this is a giant leap forward. The co-operation with the Finnish Commerce Federation allows us to deepen our focus on securing the operating conditions of our members, makes our service range more versatile and improves our own communications. We also intend to replace our Reliable Operations quality certificate with the international e-commerce certificate administered by the Finnish Commerce Federation,” says Tuomo Luoma, Chairman of the Board of Internet Industry Finland.

Internet Industry Finland, the association of online retailers and digital service providers, began its operations in 2010. The aim of the association is to lobby for and develop e-commerce and e-business. The association has 114 member companies.

Kristina Metso, M.Sc., Head of Marketing at Finnish Commerce Federation, is appointed new Executive Director of Internet Industry Finland. Metso will continue in her role as Head of Marketing at Finnish Commerce Federation.
