Conciliation of the dispute involving Kotidata is still ongoing – Trade Union Pro announced sympathy strikes
A one-month strike organised by Pro is ongoing at Suomen Kotidata. Kotidata and Pro have been conciliating with the National Conciliator for several days. The next meeting will take place on Wednesday, 4 November. The conciliation is still very much ongoing, but Pro has again today announced new strikes targeting operators.
Today, Pro announced strikes that target Telia Finland Oyj and Elisa Oyj. Pro tries to pressure operators through sympathy strikes so that they would then pressure Kotidata to apply terms of employment that comply with the collective agreement for the ICT industry.
Kotidata is a company operating in the commerce sector, and it applies the Collective Agreement for the Commercial Sector to its terms of employment, which has also been finally confirmed by the Labour Court.
The strikes announced by Pro will commence on 4 November at 6 a.m. and end on 6 November at 11:59 p.m.
“It is a shame that Pro initiates extensive sympathy strikes to companies that are not involved in any way, while the conciliation process is ongoing and the related matters are still being resolved as agreed. Instead of strikes, issues should now be resolved through negotiation,” says Anna Lavikkala, Labour Market Director, Finnish Commerce Federation.
