Kotidata struggles with the fifth strike – “it leaves you speechless”
Trade Union Pro disregards the Labour Court’s decision and continues its illegal marathon of strikes at Suomen Kotidata, a member company of the Finnish Commerce Federation. Jobs in the company are now at risk because of Pro’s unscrupulous organisational policy.
After the end of the fourth strike last Friday, Pro today began its fifth illegal surprise strike, running for another five days, at Kotidata. The Labour Court’s decision, confirming that the collective agreement for the commerce sector is applicable to Kotidata, has not deterred Pro, which continues its illegal strikes regardless of the Court’s decision and police investigation.
The Finnish Commerce Federation is shocked and at a loss for words, as Pro continues to attack the company with illegal strikes.
“Pro has clearly decided to pick on Kotidata and portray it as a cautionary example in its policy drive to expand the collective agreement for the ICT sector to as many companies as possible,” says Anna Lavikkala, Labour Market Director of the Finnish Commerce Federation.
“Pro’s media statements and actions make it clear that Pro is not concerned about Kotidata’s staff, since it is prepared to run down the company’s operations to achieve its goal,” Lavikkala adds.
