Negotiations on the labour market model begin
The employer associations, the Finnish Commerce Federation, the Chemical Industry Federation of Finland, Service Sector Employers Palta, Technology Industry Employers of Finland and Local Government and County Employers KT, have sent today an invitation to employee unions to negotiate the development of an export-driven labour market model. At the same time, they have been asked to appoint representatives from their member organisations for the negotiations starting between sector-specific unions. The Office for the Government as Employer has also been invited to the negotiations which are scheduled to start on Friday 24 November at 9:30 a.m.
The invitation to the negotiations is based on the wish expressed by Minister of Employment Arto Satonen to the labour market organisations at the seminar held on 8 November 2023, to launch discussions on a common labour market model that will strengthen the national economy and promote employment.
The purpose of the negotiation process is to quickly determine the possibilities of reaching an agreement on the development of an export-driven labour market model. The aim is that information on the outcome of the process would be available to the Minister of Employment when he calls the labour market partners together again to review the feedback received during the consultation on the development of the mediation system and the Finnish labour market model. The consultation period on the matter will end on 8 January 2024.
