Harassment in the service sector is not getting better – the tourism and restaurant industry joins the Let's behave campaign

Too many of those working in the service sector have to face harassment, threats or inappropriate behaviour at work. The Finnish Hospitality Association MaRa is joining the Let's behave campaign along with Finnish Commerce Federation and the Service Union United PAM. The campaign will kick off on June 16. It aims to encourage customers to think about their own behaviour towards those working in customer service.

Fashion Trade NOW: Growth in fashion trade is slow, but supermarket fashion is strengthening

Last year, Finns spent approximately EUR 5.2 billion on clothing. According to the Finnish Commerce Federation’s forecast, the fixed-price consumption of clothing and footwear will grow at an annual rate of less than one per cent this year and next year, and consumption will not yet return to the level before the pandemic. Economic growth in Finland requires the success of domestic demand and the service sector, estimates the Finnish Commerce Federation, which has published its objectives for the next electoral term 2027–2031. Strengthening purchasing power, improving the competitiveness of companies and ensuring a level playing field for competition are key prerequisites for accelerating economic growth and improving employment.

Domestic e-commerce grew faster than the whole retail sector at the beginning of the year – Online retailers’ expectations of growth have reached record levels

E-commerce in Finland grew by 5.1 per cent in the first quarter of the year, which is faster than the whole retail sector on average. At the same time, online retailers’ expectations of growth for domestic sales, in particular, have clearly strengthened, says the recent Verkkokauppapulssi survey.
