Nuoret kesätyöntekijät ovat arvioineet, että IKEA Suomi on tänäkin vuonna huippukesätyöpaikka. Yritys sijoittui Vastuullinen kesäduuni -kilpailussa sarjassaan toiseksi.
Järvenpäässä halutaan tarjota kesätyömahdollisuus jokaiselle yhdeksäsluokkalaiselle nuorelle. Kevään ajan käynnissä ollut Ysit kesäduuniin -kampanja huipentui perjantaina 17.5. koululaistapahtumaan Järvenpään lukiolla. Ysit kesäduuniin -kesätyökampanja on rohkea haaste, josta toivotaan syntyvän kaikkiin kuntiin ja kaupunkeihin leviävä kesätyömalli.
Kauppa on yksityisistä toimialoista eniten kesätyötä tarjoava ala, sillä myös tulevana kesänä kaupassa työskentelee noin 25 000 nuorta. Kauppa tarjoaa lukuisille nuorille ensikosketuksen työelämään, joten ei ole samantekevää, millaisen kokemuksen nuori saa kesätöistään.

Kauppa on nuorten suurin työllistäjä, ja monelle nuorelle kauppa on myös ensimmäinen työpaikka. Ikea Suomi haluaa olla mukana tarjoamassa nuorille hyviä kesätyökokemuksia ja samalla tutustua tulevaisuuden ammattilaisiin jo mahdollisimman varhaisessa vaiheessa työuraa.
